Suid-Afrikaners het tot 31 Mei 2018 die geleentheid om geskrewe voorleggings oor die beplande wysiging van Artikel 25 van die Grondwet in te dien.

Die parlementêre Grondwetlike Hersieningskomitee het Vrydag aangekondig (sien verklaring onder) dat alle belanghebbendes tot dan voorleggings ten opsigte van die regering se plan om eiendom sonder vergoeding te onteien, kan indien.

Belanghebbendes sal ook die geleentheid kry om mondelinge voorleggings doen.

Die voorleggings vorm deel van die Nasionale Raad van Provinsies se openbare deelname-proses, waartydens belanghebbendes die geleentheid sal kry om voorleggings in te dien oor wysigings aan die Grondwet, alvorens Artikel 25 gewysig kan word.

Die VF Plus se SlaanTerugSA-veldtog se ses-punt plan het onder meer ten doel om Suid-Afrikaners van die prosesse in te lig.

Verskeie aksies, waaronder internasionale bewusmaking, inligtingsessies en die stigting van ‘n onteieningsfonds is reeds met vrug geloods.

Die voorleggings is een van die demokratiese meganismes waarmee burgers hulle menings oor die beplande wysiging kan lig.

CONSTITUTIONAL REVIEW COMMITTEE CALLS FOR WRITTEN SUBMISSIONS

Parliament, Friday, 13 April 2018 – The Joint Constitutional Review Committee has called for written public submissions on the review of section 25 of the Constitution and other sections where necessary, to make it possible for the state to expropriate land in the public interest without compensation.

This comes after the National Assembly in concurrence with the National Council of Provinces mandated the Constitutional Review Committee to propose the necessary constitutional amendments where applicable with regards to the kind of future land tenure regime needed.

As part its constitutional obligation to facilitate public participation, the committee invites written submissions from all stakeholders on the necessity of and mechanisms for expropriating land without compensation. In addition to the written submission, please indicate your interest in making an oral presentation to the committee.
